Definitions:
Ekklesia is the authoritative arm of the church whose responsibility is to govern. It is God’s original design and commission for the body of Christ that carries the keys of the Kingdom and prevails over the gates of Hades/death. (See Dean Briggs, Ekklesia Rising)
Revival is a season of breakthroughs in word, deed and power that ushers in a new normal of Kingdom experience and fruitfulness. (See Longing for Revival by InterVarsity)
How can we accomplish this God-ordained mission?
A core team of 3 people will work together and make decisions unanimously.
A Discernment Team will meet regularly to hear the Lord and process ways to move prayer forward.
There will be multi-day Prayer Strikes in the City with various emphases.
We will develop Task Teams that can focus on various tasks and efforts in Austin.

It is important to remember that we are a prayer team for the city. We want to encourage and mobilize and give opportunities for intercessors.
We also need to remember what we are not. So let us be diligent in this assignment.

who we are
We are believers who have faith to believe that God can change a city! We are intercessors/prayer people who love Jesus!
Austin Awake! began with a conversation between Barb Bucklin of Luke 4:18 Ministries, David Smith, of Austin Baptist Association and Vicky Porterfield of Prayerfields with teacher and author Dean Briggs, “Ekklesia Rising” about the city of Austin. The conversations led to the first Austin Awake! Prayer Strike November 1- 10, 2023.
History
November Prayer Strike 2023
Dean Briggs from KansasCity and Marc Brisebois from Canada and others from the US came to Austin to participate in Prayer, Praise, Worship and Dreams over Austin. Local Ministries joined as ONE since we believe God is waking up Austin to hear His voice and see the Kingdom of God advance in the central Texas area. The urgency was to seek His face for strategy on how to pray to see His enemies scattered.
We developed a team of 20 people who discerned how to lead the evening gatherings. This Discernment Team has continued to meet and build unity. The unique part of the November prayer event is that we daily sought the Lord for His direction. We listened to the dreams of people and interpreted their meaning. Then each evening, we prayed and made declarations according to those dreams. No hype, no celebrities, no long teachings, just prayer and praise! Everyone played an important role. One did not just watch what happened on a stage… each person was vital and involved!
Each day in November, the discernment team met for 2 hours before the evening praise gathering of 2+ hours. Then the next day, we did it again and the anointing and faith increased. For 10 days!!!
